New Foreign Teachers at Uniminuto
Annie Forman
Hi, I’m Annie Forman! I’m from Seattle,
Washington in the northwest corner of the United States. I studied Cultural
Anthropology and Spanish in my undergraduate career and I plan on pursuing the
study of the Spanish language in graduate school. I spent a semester studying abroad
in Valdivia, Chile, but I have never been to Colombia before. I love Latin
America, and I’m so happy to be living here in Bogotá and proud to be teaching
English at Uniminuto.
I came to Colombia in January through
WorldTeach, a non-profit organization that sends volunteer English teachers to
countries all over the world. I chose to come to Colombia because I was
intrigued by the blend of cultures and vivid history of this happiest country
in the world. So far I love ajiaco, the view from Monserrate, the museums, the
street art, the mangos, the word “chévere” and getting a seat on the
TransMilenio. Thank you for sharing your beautiful country with me!
María Antonia Montes
Hi and greetings to you all! My name is
Maria Antonia Montes and I am from Louisville, Kentucky, a large city tucked
away in the beautiful southern portion of the US. I studied Political Science,
Italian and Latin American Studies in my undergraduate career. These areas are
my academic passions and I plan to continue studying Italian and learning more
about the Colombian political system. I
am also excited to learn from you over the next year, to learn about your
culture, and to explore all the beautiful cities your country has to offer.
I am thrilled to be in Bogotá for the next
year teaching you English. I came here through WorldTeach, a non-profit
organization that sends young volunteers to teach English all around the
world. I have loved being in Bogotá, and
have loved being at Uniminuto; I am touched to have been accepted into your
community so quickly. I have grown to
love and enjoy Jugo de Guanábana, Bandeja Paisa, la Candelaria, Museo del Oro,
Usaquén’s mercado de las pulgas and Carlos Vives’ vallenato. Thank you for
welcoming me into your community and to your country; I am so happy to share
this year with you all!

laid-back guy. I am interested in sports, especially football which
in Trinidad accounted for the majority of my leisure time.Other
sports that I am interested in include cricket, volleyball and
gymnastics. I also enjoy going out with friends, hanging out and
partying. My other hobbies include reading, watching films and
writing poetry.
Hello! My name is Christopher. I am

really looking forward to getting to know your culture too. I love
travelling and learning about other countries. In my free time, I
sometimes listen to and play music. I also like to go to the theatre
and cinema, but most of all I like to spend time with my friends!
